U2 Deny Tour Rumours
U2 have finally denied reports that they are to embark on a European
tour this summer, after weeks of speculation.
The band have posted a statement on their official website, insisting
there is no truth to the suggestion that they would play 30 shows
across Europe.
Their comments come despite numerous newspaper adverts, which offered
tickets to the shows, where the Irish rock heavyweights were reportedly
due to be supported by Oasis.
The statement reads: “Stories have been swirling around the net for
some time about possible dates in 2002 but contrary to current rumours
there’ll be no U2 dates this summer.”
