U2Swisshome.com has a “Cleaned up” version of Eletrical Storm which has NO BBC 1 jingle in it. U2Swisshome also reports that this version we are hearing is a “soft” version and that the one played for Island representatives last month was described as much more “electric” and “rock-like” than this ‘soft’ version.

U2′s Tribute to The Ramones

Mega rock stars U2, have signed up to perform on a tribute album to legendary rockers, The Ramones.
They will perform a cover of The Ramones’ hit Beat on the Brat. The album, due for release on November 5, also includes Metallica, Marlyn Manson, Garbage and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

In the past, U2 have said that The Ramones were a big influence when they were beginning their musical careers. Last year Bono paid tribute to band front man Joey Ramone when he died of cancer.

The track list for the album will include hits such as I Wanna be sedated and Do You Remember Rock and Roll Radio.

It will be titled We’re a Happy Family.

U2 film video on location in France

U2France.com is reporting a French fan who witnessed the filming of U2′s new video today
in the South of France. The filming took place on the beach of Eze facing Bono’s home with a
small team of 10 people.

The fan witnessed a scene in which Larry is dressed completely in black and standing next to a
bathtub full of water with a mermaid in it. Another scene had Larry sitting next to the mermaid on
a garden swing.

The fan reported hearing some of the song (presumably “Electrical Storm”) and commented that
it was “rather slow” in tempo.

Bono, also dressed completely in black and wearing dark sunglasses, wandered around the set.

The Bonos 20th Anniversary

Bono and Ali have a love greater than Bogart and Bacall, Romeo and Juliet, Rhett Butler and
Scarlett O’Hara and even Bertie and Celia.

Next week is the 20th wedding anniversary of Ireland’s real first couple Bono and Ali Hewson.

Hard to imagine that Bono was only 22 when he married a very young Alison Stewart in Dublin
on August 21st 1982.

Showing his naivety, 1982 was also the same year Bono backed the electoral campaign of the
then Fianna Gael leader Garrett Fitzgerald!

He won and Bono has been winning ever since.

Last week Bono and Ali were pictured in the tabloids enjoying a romantic holiday in Florence,
Italy. Ali and the couple’s four children have spent the summer in the family’s summer house in
Eze on the French Riviera.

Bono has been up and down throughout the summer but the couple is due back for their
anniversary but not solely to celebrate their wedding.

Few know this but the date of the couple’s wedding anniversary is also the same date that Bono’s
father Robert Hewson died last year from Cancer.

Bono and his older brother Norman are expected to both be in Dublin for their father’s first
anniversary.

Robert (Bob) Hewson is buried in Howth.

There has been some celebrating also for the Hewson family this month as the couple’s son
Elijah Bob, who was partly named after Bono’s father celebrated his third birthday.
