Bono namechecks Midge Ure, who is at the show, before One for his help with the Make Poverty History campaign. A great moment occurs at the end of the song, as Bono and The Edge start ‘Unchained Melody’ and then trail off and let the crowd take over and finish the song in unison.

The 3rd and final Dublin gig is one big party. Gloria, An Cat Dubh-Into The Heart, Original Of The Species, Bad and 40 all make their European Tour debuts. Miracle Drug is played for film director Christopher Nolan, who is at the show. Bono tells Nolan’s story, which inspired the song. Bono sings a bit of ‘Black Hills Of Dakota’ at the end of Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own. Tonight’s show, like Saturday’s, is filmed.

N/An early-in-the-set version of Out of Control (the song this city chose as U2′s first single 26 years ago) gets the crowd pumped up. It’s the first time the song has been played on the European tour, and only the second time all year. Bono dances with a female fan during All I Want Is You, and brings a male fan on stage to play guitar during Party Girl. Bono tells the crowd that the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is in attendance. A bit of Thin Lizzy’s ‘Jailbreak’ is added at the end of Vertigo 2.
