U2 enthralls fans in Japan

Irish rock band U2 performed in Japan after a gap of eight years and swooned the crowds with some of their best numbers.

Japanese fans couldn’t have asked for more! As the very popular Irish band U2 performed on stage at the Saitama Super Arena near Tokyo to a sell out crowd of more than 20,000 enthusiastic fans.

Lead singer Bono welcomed a packed stadium with a huge Japanese flag that he waved high on stage at the opening of the show. Fans were then treated to an array of songs spanning the entire length of U2’s career.

“It’s great being here, it’s fantastic. We’re really enjoying our time. It’s been a long time waiting - and it’s going to be worth it,” said Edge, US guitarist.

On top of hit tunes like "Vertigo" and "With or Without You", the band performed songs from their 1980 debut album "Boy" and their latest album "U2 18 Singles", all of this for their die hard fans waiting to catch a glimpse of their rock band.
