Washington, April 7 (ANI): Actress Cate Blanchett and U2 rocker Bono are in talks with film producers to star in ‘Blood Brothers’, a planned film adaptation of Willy Russell’s hit stage play.

Director Alan Parker is desperately working to finalise an all star cast, so that he may secure funding for the movie.

‘The Evita’ filmmaker reckons that he will require at least 40 million for producing the movie at a massive scale.

"Our ambitions for it might be greater than the support we can get financially right now," Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

"Blood brothers is a cultural icon. We don’t want to make a little film - we prefer to make it properly or not at all," he added.
