Washington, Aug. 22 (ANI): Mexican director Eduardo Arroyuelo heaved a sigh of relief when rocker Bono’s permitted him to use U2 music and footage in his movie ‘7 Dias’, for he had already shot the film.

The film is about a dreamer’s attempt to get U2 to play a gig in his hometown.

Arroyuelo had initially decided to forgo asking the band’s permission, but his risky strategy paid off when Bono himself called up.

“My cellphone rings and the very first thing I hear is an Irish accent, ‘Are you taking it to Cannes (Film Festival)?’” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“He was so earnest and so humble that I was just overwhelmed. We talked for about half an hour. He complimented the film a lot,” he added. (ANI)
