The European premiere of U2’s long-awaited ‘3D Vertigo Tour’ concert film will be screened in the band’s native city tonight.
Hundreds of fans are expected to turn up to Parnell Street’s Cineworld in the heart of Dublin as speculation mounts the rock legends will put in an appearance.
The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah last month.
While it is still unclear if frontman Bono and members The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jnr will make an appearance, it was confirmed the film’s director Catherine Owens will be present.
Shot in South America, the film uses the latest technology allowing band members to appear to leap off the screen and is the first digital 3D multi-camera production.
It is being screened as part of the Dublin International Film Festival.
