Tycoon’s Son Set To Drill For Oil In Bono’s Backyard

What would happen if an oil company tried to drill for oil off the coast of Malibu, California, within eyeshot of Hollywood stars’ mansions? Or how about off Long Island, just four miles out from the beaches of the Hamptons? The howling hassle wouldn’t be worth it.

Yet an Irish oil and gas explorer, Providence Resources, is aiming to do something similar 4 miles off of Dalkey, a picturesque town just south of Dublin, Ireland, home to the likes of U2‘s Bono and musician Van Morrison.
