TCG CERFnet (NASDAQ:TCGI) and MRD New Media Entertainment announced today that they have teamed up to provide Internet connectivity and additional technical coordination for MSN, The Microsoft Network Online Service,Webcast of the U2 PopMart concert.
The July 2 Webcast (http://u2popmart.msn.com), which will begin at 7:00 p.m. EDT, is the most ambitious MSN Webcast to date. U2 fans from all over the globe will not only be able to peer through a live camera focused on Boston’s Foxboro Stadium stage, they will be able to adjust the camera angle or zoom in and out.

Concert Footage And Graphics Enhance Concert.
U2’s "POPMART" world concert tour, which kicked off in April and willrun through March 1998, is giving new meaning to the word entertainment. While the band is performing onstage, a 56-foot high, 170-foot wide LED display videowall (cost: $7 million) presents a mix of live concert footage, graphics and animation behind them, creating, in effect, a live show within a live show.

PopMart invades the Web with a massive dose of U2By Annette Cardwell
Microsoft and rock megaband U2 want fans to go shopping on line startingtoday with the launch of the official site for the massive PopMart tour (http://U2popmart.msn.com).
Plans for the site include regularly updated tour news, photos, multimedia games, an interactive tour map, a "Pop Fly Cam" with 360-degree shots from the stage and "PopMart Radio," playing all U2 all the time.
The site gets a proper kickoff tonight with a "Pop Invasion" Webcast beginning at 9 live from the studios of Los Angeles’ KROQ, featuring interviews and digital photos. And if FM radio is your idea of going online, WBCN also will broadcast the show live.
The PopMart tour arrives at Foxboro Stadium July 1-2.
