Not Us Ltd, the core business behind the rock group, U2, has cut losses to E2.9m from E18.81m.

The improvement came as the band embarked on the Vertigo world tour after the release of their 14th album, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.

Part of the group’s business empire have moved to the Netherlands for tax reasons.

U2 frontman Bono gave evidence today against his former stylist who claims a Stetson hat she tried to sell at autction was a gift from the band.

Lola Cassman says she was given the hat and other memorabilia as gifts during U2’s Joshua Tree tour in 1987.

Nov. 3-5, U2 fans will be gathering in Toronto, Canada for the fourth annual U2 music festival. Several events will take place over the 3 days. Every year, proceeds from the event are donated to a local and an international charity. This year, African Well Fund will be one of the beneficiaries of this event.

When President Bush arrived in Marine One at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, he was greeted by rock star Bono, model Christy Turlington and Bobby Shriver, who runs an organization called DATA — or Debt, AIDS and Trade in Africa.

The three were in Chicago to attend an AIDS event.

Turlington and Bono, who has been active in raising awareness of poverty and AIDS, climbed the stairs of Air Force One with the president. Bono flashed a peace sign before the group went in the plane for a 10-minute conversation with Bush about AIDS.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - U2 frontman Bono has signed on as the first guest on musician/producer David A. Stewart’s upcoming music-themed interview show for HBO.

Described as "musicians on musicians," the show will feature the Eurythmics member interviewing fellow artists about their craft. One of the show’s producers, Jimmy Iovine, runs U2’s Interscope Records label.

The pay cable network has ordered six half-hour episodes of the show to air early next year.

U2 and punk rock trio Green Day performed several songs at the official reopening of the Superdome in New Orleans Monday, including a cover of the Skids’ "The Saints Are Coming," which was recorded to benefit musicians from the area ravaged by Hurricane Katrina.
