Okay, of course not. But The Unforgettable Fire sure comes damn close!!

Warning i tend to ramble so this may be a long post :)

Wow, wow oh wow! UF kicks ass!

Maggie Huber got to my apt. around 8 and then we were off to get a badly
needed U2 fix. Of course we were so busy talking that we got completely lost
:) hee hee
but it was so much fun!

Anyway we made it to the club around 10:00 pm because the parkway was backed
up forever. We walk into the club, no cover for ladies :) and $5 for a
bottomless cup of anything you want! hee hee We spot the DC List's usual
suspects at the bar and have to suffer through a horrible opening band (i
don't know if it was them or if it was the fact that we were getting anxious
to see UF) that sounded like they just played one long song... i think their
name was Radio Carolina... i should know he said it like 50 times!

Around 11 pm we hear it... and please shoot me because i can't think of the
name of the song but its the one that U2 used to intro their shows during the
War tour.. hee hee i felt like i was at Red Rocks!

Okay okay on to the show. IT ROCKED!!! Words can not describe! If you missed
it GO NEXT TIME!! a few of us were kicking around the idea of going to see
them in NYC. Charley (Bono) told us that they are playing the Rock 'n' Roll
Cafe on July 17. They are playing the cafe tonight too but its a little short
 notice :)

Highlights of the show for me were definitely 'Bad', All I Want Is You, With
or Without you and of course 40. I mean if i didn't know better you'd swear
you are watching bono up there on stage. Charley has got his mannerisms down
pat! From the marching in Sunday Bloody Sunday to the little hand wave in
EBTTRT! During '40' i closed my eyes and i was back in seattle at the b-stage
saying goodbye to PopMart North America.. i almost lost it! The crowd was so
great. i don't know how many of us there were but we were definitely loud!
The 'how long' part in '40' was great! Charley put the microphone into the
audience and most everyone took a turn singing into it. Before they left the
stage Charley (just like bono! ha!) took the time to shake people's hands and
i got a hug and a kiss! hee hee Met 'The Edge', 'Larry' & 'Adam' by the pool
tables after the show. really really really nice guys. They were super
excited
that they had such a great turn out in BFE, Maryland! The security guards
literally had to kick us out! On our way out Maggie and I met Scot Klinefeld
(a baltimore wireling) and he was really cool, We spent about an another hour
with him and two other U2 fans (dave & dave's friend.. sorry i don't think he
ever told me his name!) that we met talking outside the club. Around 2:30 we
were in the parking lot.. no cars except for maggie's and scot's and who
comes
strolling out of the club? Charley! HA! he says 'what are guys still doing
here?!' He came out to talk to us for a while and he is a great guy. He was
thanking us profusely for coming out to see them, he also asked if we thought
this was a good location for them. Maggie, Scot & I all agreed that they
would
have had even more people if it had been a DC club. I told him about the DC
list and that there are about 40 or so of us. I also told him that alot of
you
wanted to come but that it was kind of a commute for some folks. and you
know
what he said??? He said 'wow, that breaks my heart' :( he wants you guys to
come!!! so come to the show next time! you will not regret it!! We said good
bye, i got another hug and a kiss (man, if only i got that lucky with bono
LOL
just kidding!) and maggie and i headed home. got home around 4 am, exhausted
but very happy. sorry for the long post....

love & lemons,
gina
