The Lone Star native is joined by his Family Band and his original band,
the Offenders, for jam sessions in a variety of locales. They range from
a Texas opera house, where Nelson performs most of the tunes, to a
chapel where he sings gospel with his sister, Bobbie, and fiddler Johnny
Gimble ("I Thought About You, Lord"), to a saloon porch for a rockabilly
set with veterans like drummer Johnny Buh ("My Bucket's Got a Hole in
It"). Also included are interviews with Nelson;
and footage of a studio session with U2 that produced the song "Slow
Dancing," a recording that songwriter Bono describes as "magical." Other
songs include "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain," "Angel Flying Too Close to
the Ground" and "Whiskey River."
