 Received yesterday-

- Kathryn Bower - $5.00
- Bonnie Quigg- $25.00

A few things about the auction process:

1. I had no idea that I would be getting so many offers for auction items.
I received Deseree's items in the mail, back when she was the only person
offering auction items. Now that she is far from the only person, **please
do NOT send *me* the auction items!** I'm asking that people mail the
auction items directly to the high bidders after that is determined. I'm
having so many offers for auction items, it would be a TON more work for me
to have to mail the items out afterward (and a lot of money out of my own
pocket for shipping costs). Best to eliminate a step and just send it to
its ultimate destination when the time comes.

2. Please, if you have things you want to offer for auction, you must give
me a description of the items- including the condition - and YOU MUST
SUPPLY a starting bid. I have people sending me offers for things that
they don't know the value of. Well, neither do I! :-) I have started to
ask around in various places for a $$ value, but I have enough work to do
without adding this task.

3. Last year, we only had one item for auction, an official Dublin POPMART
concert shirt. I had personally met the anonymous donor of that shirt, and
I had personally met David Comay - the good person who retrived it from
Dublin for us. I have no auction experience aside from that. I have
recently had someone ask me, "how would i know for sure that i will get it
and not just send my money and never get the merchandise?" Well, I *hope*
that U2 fans wouldn't rip off other U2 fans in the name of a good cause.
But I have NOT personally met all of the people who are offering items this
time (some, not all). What I can tell you is that the money you send me
for the merchandise *if you are determined to be the high bidder* will
definitely go directly to Amnesty International. Beyond that, we are both
trusting that you will get your merchandise. *And I cannot be held
responsible if you don't, and no- you can't have a refund from Amnesty
International.* :) These fundraisers have always been built on trust; this
one is no different, and I do hope that nobody would damage that trust
we've built by doing anything untoward in regard to auction items.

4. If you are interested in an item, and have bid on an item, no I won't
email you when you are outbid - this is NOT eBay! :) (hmmmmm....eBay...a
gong just went off in my head...) You can email me to ask what the high
bid is, or go to the very beautiful fundraiser web page and see. HERE IS IS
AGAIN- http://www.potomac.com/deseree/ai/Default.htm - when Des gets my
updates, she'll put them up there.

Those of you who have emailed me in regard to offers of auction items
recently weren't aware of much of the above. I wanted to get some ground
rules in place, but you will get an individual response from me soon!:)

With a head full of traffic,

Heidi ---> going to see "There's Something About Mary" today -- it has to
be done!:)
