If any of you happened to be watching vh1 yesterday (Sunday) evening
you may have seen where they ranked U2 among the top 100 artists of
rock and roll. I was in shock when I saw that they were disrespected
by being put at 29 behind Sly and the Family Stone. Maybe I am just
over reacting, and I think U2 should be at the top of every list.
This all sort of bothered me because vh1 claims that their list is of
the most influential artists. I don't know of many artists other than
The Beatles, Elvis, or the Rolling Stones that have influenced as many
artists as U2. They have always done their own thing, and others have
always followed. I guess trailblazers never get the credit they
deserve.
Thanks for putting up with my whining.
