Thought you guys might be interested in the following which is taken from
the Melbourne "Herald Sun" newspaper. Now that this can probably be added
to the top of the "new album false rumor file" - but it's the only thing I
have seen in print regarding a new U2 album here in Australia.

<snip>
"Traditionally the busiest time of the year for record companies, the next
six months see some of the biggest guns in the music world aiming for your
wallets. Here's your guide to what's coming to rock your world.

U2

Title - Drive (tba)

Due - December (tba)

Brief - There's still no confirmation of exactly what U2 are up to. There
was talk of a Rattle & Hum style live and studio assortment called Rather Go
Blind. The latest rumour is a project called Drive, said to be a mix of War
and The Unforgettable Fire with the band steering away from their recent
flirtations with technology. "Even the band don't know what direction it
will take," a spokesperson says.

Intended market - Those who found Pop flat."

Where there it is - for what it's worth. I particularly liked (joke) the
Intended Market comment. Guess there will be a whole lot of us not buying
the new album, huh? - cos I certainly did not find Pop "flat". BTW do I
assume that they mean December 1998???????

P.S. Finally the Simpsons episode aired on Australian TV last night. Too
cool!!
