The Future of FLOM...

It's messes like this that really make my morning. My response:

DEAR MIKE LANGLEY,

>> FLOM has been a great resource in obtaining information on the
many
>>U2 Bootlegs in existence.

Thanks, and it will continue to be for the rest of my U2-loving life.,
thank you very much.

>Have you ever given any thought of passing
>>FLOM onto a new owner?

ABSOLUTELY NOT. I AM PERSONALLY DEEPLY INSULTED AND HURT THAT ANYONE
WOULD EVEN SUGGEST THIS. I HAVE GIVEN UP THE BETTER PART OF SEVEN
MONTHS UPDATING THE LATEST VERSION OF FLOM.

>I'm offering to take over this service because it
>>appears that you are very busy because FLOM hasn't been updated for
>>quite awhile.

I HAVE BEEN VERY BUSY WORKING ON FLOM FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS. , YOU
IDIOT. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE THE GALL TO COMPLAIN. THE WEB
SITE HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED BECAUSE THE TEXT VERSION IS COMPLETED FIRST
AND THEN THE WEB INFO IS UPDATED FROM THAT. THIS ENSURES THAT BOTH
VERSIONS ARE ABSOLUTELY THE SAME. THE NEXT VERSION IS ABOUT TWO WEEKS
FROM BEING FINISHED AND WILL CONTAIN APPROXIMATELY 100 NEW REVIEWS AND
SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 75 AND 150 CORRECTIONS TO PREVIOUS REVIEWS. I HAVE
BEEN BUSTING MY ASS TO MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS AND IT
MAKES ME EXTREMELY ANGRY WHEN I GET MESSAGES LIKE YOURS.

>> I'm not trying to force you to do anything, but if I were to take
over
>>FLOM, it would move to it's own server and domain name.

YOU WILL NOT FORCE US TO DO ANYTHING. YOU WILL NOT BE TAKING OVER FLOM.
END OF STORY.

>This means that
>>Joel Gartholomew wouldn't have to store all the files anymore. We have
>>more than enough space on one of our servers and since all the
>>information would be in one place it would mean faster access time. It
>>would also be sharing a T3 connection for a very fast connection to
the
>>Internet backbone.

THANKS, BUT NO THANKS. WE ARE DOING JUST FINE. AS FOR THE REVIEWS,
THEY ARE ON JOEL'S SERVER BECAUSE WE WANT THEM TO BE THERE. THERE HAS
NEVER BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THEM THERE, AND THERE IS NO FORESEEN PROBLEM
WITH THEM BEING THERE.

>> The main plus is that I'd be able to keep it updated. I would
keep
>>the current interface, and eventually switch it over to an interface
>>where it'd be updated in real time at the time of submission. FLOM is
a
>>service to many people, I'm just trying to upgrade it in terms of
>>information and speed.

THANKS, BUT NO THANKS. WE ARE DOING JUST FINE.

>>Please take my offer into consideration. I have the resources to
enhance
>>this service.

AS DO WE. I AM A MULTIMEDIA PRODUCER AND BOB IS A WEB DEVELOPER. WE DO
NOT NEED YOUR HELP. PERIOD. AS FOR FUTURE PLANS, THE ENTIRE FORMAT OF
BOOTLEG REVIEWS WILL BE CHANGED IN ABOUT 6 MONTHS TO INCLUDE A FULL
RANGE OF SOUND QUALITY RATINGS, AS WILL THE SUBMISSION FORM. ALSO, FLOM
IS CURRENTLY BEING DEVELOPED INTO A DATABASE THAT IS BEING PROPAGATED AS
WE SPEAK. WHAT THE HELL!?

>>Thanks. (I hope this message didn't get sent more than once, I have to
>>use Hotmail while at work)

AS DO I.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sincerely,

Mike "The Incompetent FLOM Editor" Gentile
