Hi there folks!
Greetings from Finland!
This my first message in this U2-list.
In this message there are some comparisons
between certain U2-lyrics and
        certain Bible-passages;
there are many sides in this band and in this message there is
a talk about one of them:
                                       "Our Father in heaven,
                                        hallowed be Your name,
"I believe in the Kingdom Come... Your Kingdom Come" (Mt 6:9a
                                                                   -10b).

"Then I heard a loud voice in heaven
                                   say: "Now have come
the salvation and the power and
the kingdom of our God, and
the authority of His Christ (Rev
                                                                  12:10a).
"You broke the bonds and
 You loosed the chains
Carried the cross "Carrying His own cross,
And all my shame He went out to the place of the Skull" (Jh 19:17).
All my shame "He...carried our sorrows (Is 53:4).
 You know I believe it"

      U2: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
          The Joshua Tree
                                        "and through Him to reconcile
                                         to Himself all things, whether
                                         things on earth or things
                                         in heaven, by making peace
"To the side of a hill, blood was spilt through His blood, shed
We were still looking at each other on the cross" (Col 1:20).
But we're going back there, Jerusalem...
I want to go to the foot of Mount Zion
To the foot of He who made me see.
To the side of a hill, where we were still,
We were filled with a Love.
And we're going to be there again, Jerusalem.

A shout, a shout, with a shout shout it loud, with a shout"

      U2: With A Shout
          OCTOBER

"I was there when
They crucified my Lord "Here they crucified Him" (Jh 19:18).
 I held the scabbard when
The soldier drew his sword "Deliver my life from the sword" (Ps 22:20).
I threw the dice when "They cast lots for my clothing" (Ps 22:18).
They pierced his side "One of the soldiers pierced Jesus' side
                             with a spear" (Jh 19:34).
"He was pierced for our transgressions...
and by His wounds we are healed" (Is 53:5).
But I've seen "Posterity will serve Him; future generations
Love conquer the great divide" will be told about the Lord.
                                They will proclaim His righteousness
to a people yet unborn-- for He has done it"
                                                              (Ps 22:30
U2: When Love Comes to Town -31).
          Rattle & Hum

"The real battle just begun
To claim the victory Jesus won "Jesus rose early
On a Sunday bloody Sunday" on the first day of the week" (Mk 16:9).

      U2: Sunday Bloody Sunday
          WAR

"Who heals the wounds, "...by His wounds we are healed" (Is 53:5).
 Who heals the scars?
Open the door, open the door...

 Open are the way now
 To the Lamb of God
 To the Love of He
Who made me blind to see
 He's coming back
 He's coming back
 Oh believe Him
 Jesus coming Amen
