I'm guessing that shortly after this comes out in the digest I'll be
getting an e-mail from some freak or another to visit their site (like the
u2 mall- complete waste of time- save yourself the trouble). anyhow:
These people are either getting the addresses as subscribers to the list
or through the Web-based archive (although i;m not sure how they (or if
they) control postings from that site). either way, i'm sure the
majority of the posters would rather NOT get these unsolicited messages.
My idea is this:
if they are somehow harvesting our addresses from our posts and
using them for commercial purposes, I think we ought to appeal to Joel to
ban them from getting the posts, and thus, prevent them from sending this
stuff.
