Personally, I'd give this one to Alexander Fleming, the Scottish
physician who invented penicillin. If it weren't for penicillin, I
wouldn't be alive. Another logical choice would be Jonas Salk, who
invented the polio vaccine after seventeen years of very tough research.
We all owe these guys big time. Sorry for the non- U2 subject but some
one did want to give this to Bono. I happen to think he'd be pretty
horrified to get it ahead of Salk, Fleming and others.
