Hi all,

A few of us went down to Princes Street Gardens yesterday to see the
Popmart Premiere.

It lasted 20 minutes or so and featured screen images (Roy Lichenstein /
Keith Harring) from the tour as well as some live footage from the
Mexico gig (I think). A lot of the tracks used were remixes (Numb, Last
Night On Earth amongst others) and the live versions included Please and
complete showing of One.

Catherine Owens was in the audience and was expected to do a small talk
afterwards but unfortunately she didn't.

Did the web broadcast take place? If so, did anyone download any/all of
it? I'd love a copy.

If anyone is in Edinburgh during the Festival then I recommend they go
down and take a look. According to staff there, Popmart will be shown a
couple of times each day until August 30th.

I don't know if each showing will be broadcast on the web but keep an
eye the site (www.festivalrevue.com).

The organisers seemed delighted that a major artist had taken the time
to produce something for (initially) the Festival. They praised
Catherine's work saying it was refreshing that "a music video centred on
the visual art rather than the artist".

I didn't manage to find out anything about a commercial release date,
but I'll be down again a couple more times before the end of the month
and I'll see what I can find out

If anyone does want to venture down, let me know and we can meet up.
There is also a 3 day record fair at the Crown Plaza Hotel this weekend
as part of the Festival.

Cheers,

Mark (now in work and wishing he hadn't used the beer tent as much)
