That's a shame. IMO, one learns to appreciate U2 even more by learning to
appreciate their acknowledged influences. Through them, I've been exposed
to so much great music by Joy Division, Roy Orbison, the Velvets, and
artists who I first heard on various Wim Wenders soundtracks. Come on, how
can you not be interested in learning more about, say, the Beatles, after
they're the subject of one of Bono's frequent musings?
U2's great, but there's so much more out there.
