For some unknown reason, this didn't end of on Wire when I send it a few days
ago, but last week Keira shared with us:

<<But it amazes me with the amount of material u2 uses, which is not
originally theirs, and young fans go on thinking that it's an original U2
idea.>>

Yes, how true. I remember reading in Flanagan's book that when Mick Jagger
went to one of the first ZooTV shows (Miami?) he wasn't necessarily enjoying
the show, rather he was memorising where he'd seen certain show elements
before.. like "ah, this is from that movie, and oo.. Bono nicked that from
him.. " and so on.

Remembber how Bono used to do the Hilter greeting with raising one arm, and
forcing it down with the other, when he passed the upper screens at the very
beginning of Zoo Station?

well, I was watching an old black and white movie some weeks ago (forgot its
title) which went on about the development of the H-bomb or something similar
to that. Within the team of mainly American scientists, was one German
scientist. When the plot of the movie came to the time that experiments gave
satisfying results, the old German man felt triomph take control of his
body.. repeatedly doing the Hilter sign in a reflex, while his rationalised
side made his other arm pull it down. I had to think of Bono when I saw that.

I'm not saying Bono got that from that movie, but it's an example of how Bono
could have been influenced, while the masses (=us) could well have been
thinking it's Bono's idea originally.

And there's a whole lot of these showelements that could have references to
ideas of a book, movie or whatever. Anyone any idea what the rotating faces
during Mysterious Ways (ZooTV) are about? I want to believe there's something
more to it than just what you see,

Anyway, thought I'd share it :-)

just down the line.. gonna make it on time
