Why Does U2 Want To Leave Polygram Soon?

All the new rumors seem to point to the way that U2 just wants to
finish their contract and leave Polygram. Why? (I guess I haven't
been in touch with the news about this intention of U2)

Well, I heard though that they had a four album deal or something
to that extent. So I wouldn't be surprised if they suddenly release a
2 CD live/greatest hits album, then follow it up quickly with new
material album.

But rumors of U2 wanting to leave Polygram makes sense to me.
First of all, this intention to leave (if it indeed is real) seems to
jive with the live abum or greatest hits or double cd rumors.

Secondly, it also seems to make sense why U2 "witheld" all their extra
material from the Pop sessions by not releasing them with the b-sides.
I heard there were lots of new material that came out of those
sessions and this premise was solidified by the concrete evidence in
the Melbourne Soundcheck. Maybe they might just plan to pour out all
those extra tracks in sucession just to get their deal with Polygram
done. Who knows? Maybe a three CD set like Prince's Emancipation might
just come out.

If they move to another label, I would suggest Warner since they
worked with Warner already with Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill me.

So much fro all this blah blah blah...now back to my question:

WHY DOES U2 WANT TO LEAVE POLYGRAM SOON?

Cheers,

J
