I've been a fan for a long time and have most of the U2 catalog, albums,
singles what not. I would like to see a box set from them especially if
it contains material from the Zooropa and POP sessions that did not make
the album. There was the statement made by the author in "U2 at the end
of the world" discussing that there was enough left over material to
ensure box sets for years to come. Remember in the video for the
Unforgettable Fire collection, when they showed the band recording the
different versions of pride and what not. I would love to be able to
hear all of them. I don't think there should be a question of artistic
credibility in U2 releasing a greatest hits album. They deserve the
recognition. Classical composers, Beethoven, Mozart, old time crooners
Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, rock and roll and soul
singers The Beatles, The Doors, Marvin Gaye all have collections of
their greatest works for us to enjoy. U2 has created the type of music
that will survive for generations to come. Furthermore, I do not
believe U2 has ever disappointed its fans before and have no worries of
them releasing tacky greatest hits album. Besides, think of all the
great Wire arguements that are to come when we debate what songs should
be on the greatest hits album. In fact, let's start now. The following
songs should be on the greatest hits album;
1) I Will Follow(a given)
2) Electric Co
3) Boy/Girl
4) Tomorrow
5) Rejoice
6) A Celebration
7) Sunday Bloody Sunday(from Under A Blood Red Sky)
8) New Year's Day
9) 40
10) Party Girl(live)
11) Pride
12) Unforgettable Fire
13) MLK
14) Bad(Wide Awake)
15) Love Comes Tumbling(purely for my own pleasure)
16) Where the Streets
17) With Or Without You
18) I Still Haven't Found
19) Exit
20) Red Hill(come on it's everyone's favorite track)
21) Desire(not my fave but VH1 seems to love it so who am I to argue)
22) Silver and Gold( I like the studio better but the live is great esp.
when Bono gets pissed off)
23) All I Want Is You(underrated video)
24) Zoo Station( where every fan got scared for a few seconds)
25) EBTRT
26) One
27) Acrobat(again personal pleasure)
28) Love Is Blindness
29) Zooropa
30) Numb
31) Stay
32) MOFO(live with POP Muzik intro)
33) If You Wear That Velvet Dress(live)
34) Gone
So that was easy, all U2 has to do is come out with a triple cd set and
I'll be satisfied. What do you think?

Much love,

Zonker
