GH debate...I ve decided I don't care anymore

Ok, ill admit it..when i first heard the news of a gh album i was pretty
t'd...but then i started thinking about it a bit more logically. Sure I like
being a fan of a group that cares about "artistic integrity" which they may or
may not have betrayed according to your definition...but that is nowhere close
to the reason why i got into them. It was the songs themselves and the fact
that u2 can and will sing about anything...including topics i realy care
about, and do it well with emotion talent and passion. I know Bono has
commented about never doing a greatest hits album, but then Ive done Alot of
things ive previously said I wouldn't.
Personally because of this album, Im going to get a live bad, (No I never
bought WAIA...couldn't see spending 10-12 dollars on only 4 songs at the
time...)a new version of sweetest thing and a plethora of bsides that a new
fan like I have not heard on something other than real audio....and I've
decided I'm looking forward to it. I don't know u2 motives behind this..a
rumour i heard was that they did it to buy time for completion of their new
album...but who knows? It could be the 50 mil, it could be to try to win back
the ears of fans turned off by Pop, I don't know..and I'm beginning to think
it really is none of my business. Why is it the fans business to know how
much their musicians are making anyway?
Well to end this rambling I am just going to say that U2 haven't betrayed my
fanhood by this move, it would take alot more than this to do that..my
connection to this band is that deep...and I still haven't heard anyone that
can move me in the way their music does, and I doubt that I will. I plan on
buying this compilation..it will save me alot of money and spare me from
buying the bootleg single compliations just to have decent copies of some
really excellent b-sides like luminous times and walk to the water!

still keeping faith in her favorite band,
Megan
