idea about the reason for no US sweetest single

A lot of more recent, up-and-coming bands are putting out their albums
with no opening US singles for sale (they are on the radio, but not in
stores). This is so that fans of one particular song have to buy the
entire album to get it, boosting sales. This may be the reason behind
U2's apparent decision to not release one in the US, although I'll try
and buy the import: it looks pretty good (from what is described at
zoonation)..
IMO, I like the new version better (after hearing it on realaudio), that
is, I never quite cared for the old "incomplete" version too much.. this
one seems somehow better, I dunno maybe it's all psychological
