Nothing at all to forgive, Satch!!
Read Elizabeth's posting again. She annotates the Irish Times
article with her own opinions. It was those annotations I was
disagreeing with. I'm sure Elizabeth is perfectly capable of
defending herself, and I invite her to reply to me personally. I'm
sure she's a lovely person. I simply find her political opinions
abhorrent - especially when she claims to understand the "Irish
question" beter than the Irish (a posting months ago, if I'm right).
Still, I'm sure she'd find my views abhorrent too. The one difference
is my political outlook wouldn't advocate having her shot because
of her beliefs, whereas Irish republicanism does espouse this
method of dealing with those who disagree.
But, this is a U2 list, so anyone wanting to agree/disagee/flame me
is more than welcome to do so privately.
On a U2 thread...
I discovered today, I teach a child who's builder father is
renovating/rebuilding/whatever Bono's house! The kid had noticed
my U2 pic on my desk.
Also, according to one record shop here, in the UK at least, the
Best of + B sides will be in a slipcase with booklet full of pics.
Hope this is true!
Also, using Boyzone may have been a good marketing ploy with
the pre teen girl market, if the adolescent girls I teach are anything
to go by!!
