Re: Nikki's post

The Devlins are a terrific band, highly recommend anyone looking for
something new give them a try. They have two CDs, the first was "Drift"
from a few years back and then "Waiting" was released about 8-10 months
ago. They are somewhat "mellow," but the guitar melodies are terrific ... I
think from listening to the albums there's no doubt Edge's playing has been
an influence, and they've been compared to early U2 in some articles and
reviews (although comparisons like that never really seem to help anyone).

Anyway, yes they do know our beloved U2 -- everyone in the Irish music
industry knows everyone else! Would they ever open for a U2 show? Maybe,
but in the politics of Irish music, having an Irish band be your opening
act is always somewhat risky. During the Dublin PopMart shows last year,
they essentially had no choice but to have Ash open -- needed a Northern
band to balance things out. (Taking nothing away from Ash, with all their
success they would be a very deserving choice regardless of where they're
from.....)

I believe both Devlins CDs are available at CDNow. Probably some song
samples, too.

Thus concludes our Irish music promo. Now back to our regularly scheduled
programming. :-)

Matt
