Sweetest Thang: MY review

My review short and sweet:
-I like the original better because...
I liked the original's vocal deep downs more than the new frilly
falsettos. In his ooh oohy vocals I can certainly hear how he cherishes
HER in this one, versus the tone of the original recording were there
was more of a feeling of urgence and regret.
I also miss how Adam and Larry would come in with drums and bass and
loud claps in the interval. I hate to say this, but they got upstaged.
It was that strong and dramatic interval that gave the song it's
masculinity. If I had to give anologies I'd say, the original was heady,
hairy and deep. The new one is frank, but frilly and feathery.
I'm sure they had their good (personal/professional) reasons for
redoing it, but in my opinion, it was "sweet" as it was.
Oh, contrary to popular opinion, I LIKE the doo doo doo doos! That was
the only really obvious change that I DID like. But, it seemed like it
could have been saved as something for a new song... Doo doo doo doo,
doo doo doo doo....
