some interesting stats

OK, I'm a day late for this anniversary thing, but it's been a year since
the disappearance of the "World Wide WIRE" banner in Thessaloniki. As a bit
of a tribute, I'm posting some rough stats on the banner travels across the
globe (both the first and second banner). If you have no idea what I'm
talking about, feel free to email me for specifics...

Wire Banner Statistics / POPMart Tour 97/98:

78/93 shows attended (84%)
66/78 cities attended (85%)
24/29 countries attended (83%)
6/6 continents attended (100%)

More than 50 wirelings helped out in the planning, transporting, and
displaying of the banners, which amassed literally thousands of signatures
while travelling close to 100,000 miles around the globe! And I have
hundreds of emails to back up all these statistics :-)

I post these stats not to boast or brag, but to show you all what we as a
community can do when we bond together. These banners, to me, are a symbol
of our unity. They became that "tangible testimony" that I truly hoped they
would. For that, I give you my sincerest thanks.

Mike
