Yep, that's what I think. Bono's voice is so feeble--from years of
oversinging and smoking--that he sounds like somebody's stepping on his
larynx. His voice has been on the decline for the last 10 years, actually,
and it's only getting worse. I really feel sorry for him. Unlike, say,
country music and 'easy listening stuff, a rock singer's voice almost always
deteriorates after a few years--there's just too much yelling involved,
along with singing too loud. Listen to Robert Plant at the end of Zeppelin
compared with their early stuff and you'll see the same thing. Steve Perry
can't sing the way he used to, either. As if there were any doubt, feel free
to flame me or whatever, I could care less.
