Just a comment or two about U2's Move with ST '98 and
the Greatest Hits Album due out in Nov.

I like the idea and I think U2 has made the right move (to
agree with another WIREling's post.)

The era that this Greatest Hits package covers was MAYBE
the best era for U2 (in my opinion it was). There is a lot
of emotion in the music/lyrics TJT, R&H, UF, WAR, BOY, OCT.....no one
can deny that! All those "gone" U2 fans will come back...possibly
wondering what will come next.

A re-birth of rock'n roll? A re-birth of GREAT U2 songs w/o electronic
stuff getting in the way? The birth of people turning away from Marilyn
Manson's music to music that makes more sense(U2)? I mean, I don't
knwo what that dude (Marilyn Manson) stand up for.....but whatever it is,
it's nothing I believe in. U2 entertains me AND reaffirms my faith
in what I believe in.

Let me say this: I write songs and the BEST ones, the ones that I enjoy
writing are truly those where I leave off the keyboards, the synth, the
heavy distortion. U2's into the same.....a voice, drums, bass, three
chords,
 and the truth!!!

I'm just gald to see those b-sides released on this package!!!!

Later
