Hey PopMartians,

Our local paper The Courier Mail had a short article (and picture) about the
Million Dollar Hotel in today's paper which i thought you might find
interesting.

Gibbo and Bono

Two of the entertainment industry's biggest drawcards, actor Mel Gibson and
U2 singer Bono, are joining forces on an independent film that will begin
filming early next year. Reports say Gibson will play the role of a
detective investigating the death of a billionaire's son in the black
comedy, 'The Million Dollar Hotel', written by Bono.
Gibson, who has set aside two weeks to film, will reportedly shave his head
for the lead role. The film was inspired in part by a house in Los Angeles
that was home to former mental patients and Bono's experiences running a
hotel.
Bono wrote the screenplay with director Wim Wenders and writer Nicolas
Klein. Bono may also play a minor role in the movie and his band, U2, will
be featured on the soundtrack.
The Million Dollar Hotel was the nickname of the rooming house where U2
filmed its 1987 video for the song 'Where the Streets Have No Name'.
The movie is set in the year 2030. When a patient dies in The Million Dollar
Hotel, a federal agent is called in to find out if there was any foul play.
Gibson's company, Icon Productions, will co-produce 'The Million Dollar
Hotel' with Bono and others in January.

Sorry if that's all old news to everyone, I haven't read Wire much lately,
some of it was new to me anyway.
