Fearless Forecast about GH chart position in USA

That same week as the 2 CD limited edition release, a few other
artists will release their albums, namely Alanis, Celine Dion, Method
Man, Oasis, Rage, Hanson, Portishead, Beck, and others.

Celine's album is a Christmas album so sales won't pick up until
December, but Alanis album has really been highly anticipated. So I'd
predict an Alanis #1 debut by a mile, with U2 at #2, and closely
followed by Method Man and Celine. And that is my forecast for the
double CD ltd. edition.

The next week (when U2 releases their "regular" GH), Mariah Carey will
release a compilation of her #1 hits, and R.Kelly and TLC wsill have
new album by then. Also, Alanis, Method Man, and Celine will be in
their second week, while U2's Ltd Edition will be out of the shelves.
So I'd expect U2 to plummet to the lower half of the top ten, with
such a busy chart.

But overall, I think GH will sell more than Pop. The Christmas
release is well-timed. It is a time when people are getting their
13th month bonuses and their savings are going to be spent.

Hope I make sense. What do you guys think?

J
