odds and ends

Hey Wirefolk!

Okay, U2 is supposedly coming out with a greatest hits cd next month,
right? It's supposed to be a double cd, with an extra b-sides for the first
week. (I'm doing alright so far, right?) Well, today, I heard the new version
of "Sweetest Thing" on the radio. Before the DJ played the song, he said
"Coming up, I've got some stuff off the new U2 box set that's coming out." I
flew out of my chair and called the station. I asked him if he was sure there
was a boxed set coming out. I've only heard about the greatest hits thing. He
said that according to what he was reading, next month U2 "The Singles" box
set is coming out. Now, is it just me, or does the box set and the greatest
hits cds sound like two different things? I work at a record store, and in the
computer there's a listing for U2 "The Singles" box set, but it was from 1987
or something, and it was discontinued. I'm so confused! Either way, I'll end
up getting both if that's what's going on. But, I've been wondering about that
all day. Also, (this is probably stale news, lol), I heard that Popmart from
Mexico is supposed to come out the same day as the greatest hits cd. I guess
I'll have to believe all this stuff when I see it. I believed that the
"Sweetest Thing" single was supposed to come out last month on the 29th, and
that never happened, so I guess I'll just fly by the seat of my pants and see
what happens.
Oh yeah, one other thing has been bothering me. Have any of you heard
the new Sheryl Crow song "Favorite Mistake"? Don't ya think that the beginning
of her song sounds just a little too similar to Bono's "ooooooo oooooooo" in
the middle of "Discotheque", right before the "boom cha's"?
Sorry for the blabbering-it's late, so I'm using that as my excuse.
:o)
                   Peace and Love,
                          Beth
