The "G" Man (Mexico Broadcast)

I went out to watch a movie called "The Holy Man" starring Eddie Murphy,
Jeff Goldblum etc. Well, I noticed something.

The name of the Holy Man character (Eddie Murphy) was "G". And his role
was a man who wanders around and helps people doing good deeds.

This immediately reminded me of something I had seen in the Mexico City
Broadcast (on Showtime). The very same one that will be released next
month I believe.

Well, Bono says something like the following:

"If it keeps us interested, it's not gonna be bullshit for you"
"What's Spanish for Bullshit?" <Bono asks the crowd>
<At this point someone yells "dream out loud!" to him>
"Dream out loud... Amen brother"
"We nearly lost a brother last night"
"The G Man, another wandering spirit"
<now the drums of pride start>
"Well, we're here to make love"
<now Pride starts>

Well this strikes me as very coincidental. Maybe I misheard him, but it
sounds to me like he said "The G man". If he said something else, someone
please let me know what he said, and what he meant by "we nearly lost a
brother last night", and if I'm right - how did Bono know about this film
in advance and is this what he was referring to?

I'm puzzled.
