In my opinion U2's history is at constant evolution and for every
evolution a CRISIS has to be gone through. The crisis is the moment in
wich new information comes into the process. Taking this on account, my
opinion is that there are THREE defining moments in U2's history so far.
The first one was the crisis lived at the recordingsof the Unforgettable
Fire, when the band almost felt into a creative hole, but where able to
overcome it, and cgange their sound 180 degrees. The second defining
moment was the crisis lived at the recording of Achtung Baby, where the
band nearly brohe uo because of the lack of creativity left, this, until
Bono went and played ONE, and the creativity came back. The third
definig moment is the one that we are living right now, because U2 has
been able of taking themselves to a higher level, and they are preparing
to do it all over again. This is reflected in the cover of the greatest
hits sleeve (PETER ROWEN with the military hat ). What they want to tell
us is that they feel like starting it all over again, they steel feel
like BOYS, but now with more knowledge and experience, thats why the
military HELMET is included.

a message from THE ETHEREAL CONNECTION, The website that shows the
chronological paralelism between U2 and the Beatles.
