Sure you're not the only one. As i became a fan before Live Aid, it
was in 83 with NYD, and i was already 17 at that time, i just can say even
inside Europe, we're not the same. :-D As War was their first famous album
here and because i met in concerts many european fans (from my age, mostly
german and dutch fans) who discovered U2 with War, i suppose this album was
the first one who gave the band a huge audience. But it's true Live Aid did
this too for people who still didn't know War. I don't deny it at all. The
only thing i didn't take account in this subject is a Bono's quote from an
interview (in a french mag) last year which he said in "We really love your
country because France was one of the rare countries outside of Ireland
where we have success from Boy", because i don't know the others countries
which gave the same success as mine to Boy, according to Bono's quote. I
even didn't know Boy was a success in my country, i just knew the band had
done concerts here from Boy. It's funny it's Bono who taught me this. And i
learnt what happened during the Live Aid only in U2books and many years
after it happened. Maybe i failed to see it at that time or maybe it wasn't
broadcasted in France, i don't know. So, it's why i thought only USA and
maybe some others countries like Australia discovered U2 with Live Aid. I
hope you all understand me now.

        In the name of love
