Bono to Write for "Bible"

(OCT. 24) WENN/P - BONO TO WRITE FOR "BIBLE" U2 star BONO is to write for a
controversial publishing house which is currently being boycotted by Christian
fundamentalists. The DESIRE singer has agreed to write the introduction to the
Book of Psalms as part of a 12-book edition of the Bible. And the singer has
described the Book of Psalms as "the original blues."
He says the U2 song 40 was actually based on Psalm 40. But Christians
protested after reading what some people had written in their introduction and
Edinburgh publishers Canongate have been threatened with prosecution for
blasphemy.
A spokesman for Canongate says, "We have no idea what Bono will write but we
imagine it will be good." The star is to be paid $1,440 (=9C900) for his
1,500-word introduction and is expected to have it finished soon.
