A Little Sound and Vision?

I'm looking forward to the release of the Best of U2 but I am a little
disappointed and here is why:

Many other bands have utilized the interactive technology available through
CD-Roms to include lots of cool information in the CD. For example, the
Tibetan Freedom Concert includes an interactive CD that has audio and video
of interviews with various bands and members of bands (Bono, for example).

David Bowie's "Jump" is probably the best example of this technology and
many other bands and artsits have utilized it to includes music sheets,
historical information and just about anything else they wanted to include.

I can't really think of a better place to use this technology than on a
"Best of" collection. Think: U2 could have included tons of pictures,
copies of lyric sheets, outtakes, interviews, etc. ETC. that would have
greatly expanded on a simple "Best of" collection.

After all, what is a "Best of" collection besides a historical document?
Edge said in the ET interview that it was like "polaroid" shots of the band
in time. But where are the polaroids? =) It seems like it would be a
bvaluable way to "introduce" people to the early years of U2.

Who knows, maybe this was considered but there were time limitations (i.e.
the Christmas season) that prevented it from happening. Hopefully a future
release will make full use of the technology currently available.

Would this make it more interesting for folks who may not buy the Best of
collection because they already own the individual discs?

Peace,
Paul
