BEST OF WIRE!

It was the fall of 1993 when I first stumbled into these corridors of
Wire. That'll be five years this month. So I've been on wire through a
lot. I thank this list for being the first to bring me news most times
(until Prarit came along!). I probably would have missed Passengers
otherwise...i've seen the list disintegrate into large flame wars. I've
made some good friends on the list. I've seen everyone's top ten
lists. I've unsubscribed a couple of times, sometimes in boredom,
sometimes in anger, sometimes out of necessity. But after it all, I
have to say this mailing list has done more to foster my love in U2 than
anything but the music. It's a place to become addicted, as so many of
us have. It's a place to search out for that fix for the latest piece
of news/music/picture etc. It's a place to trade your love and
information for somebody elses.

So on my 5th anniversary of being on wire, I'd love to see a new thread,
who's been here, how long you've been here, what you like/dislike about
the list and U2, why you keep coming back etc. Let's hear about a Best
Of/Worst Of Wire in honor of the Best of album. Perhaps seeing some
postings about the list itself will give us all a better feeling of why
people are here! But please, lets not turn this into a discussion over
who is a true U2 fan based on how long someone has been on the list or
how old someone is...that's been beaten to death, and there is no right
answer.
