Wirelings,

In an interview with The Edge in this week's NME (UK) regarding the Best
of Release, he confirms that Daniel Lanios and Brian Eno are working on
DRIVE - the new project. He also says that U2 are writing and jamming
in the studio with a "hope" that the record will not take too long, be
finised next year and will have an "optimistic" feel.

I don't know about anyone else, but the presence of Daniel and Brian
really excites me. POP was good, but lacked cohesion - something I
think Eno can bring....and Daniel gets the drums to sound sooooooooo
good. Looking forward to it!

The record could do with a trip abroad though - don't you think ?
Achtung Baby was born in Berlin, Pop was massaged in Miami (a little too
late to save the record), Joshua Tree was born in the USA (desert)...any
ideas as to a cool place to decamp to to soak up some influences???

Suggestions???

Mine are....
1. Belfast
2. Eygpt
3. Cuba

Looking forward to some "new" material once this Best of .. money
grabing is out of the way. (It does remind you exactly how good they
are...just look at the tracks that have been left out!)

Red.
