A Recollection of the Past

It's been one year...on Friday Oct. 31, 1997, I saw U2 in the Pontiac
Silverdome for the first time in my life. I can remember distincly that some
people in costumes left early because they didn't realize U2 would reappear on
the stage for an encore or two, therefore, they missed the best songs, in my
opinion. I also remember Bono asking if we wanted a trick or treat, and also
Larry being presented with a birthday cake (HAPPY BIRTHDAY LARRY!) I remember
taking it 3 hours to get from the University of Michigan to the Pontiac
Silverdome, when in all reality, it shouldn't have taken more than 45 min.
However, I enjoyed how almost every radio station was playing U2 that night.
And while I'm mentioning this, I remember a female reporting saying on the
radio how the stage looked like a giant penis. Hehehe. I, being only 15,
didn't quite know what to expect. But I would later find out that was the
best day of my youthful life. I've grown to love U2 so much more since then.
True, I am from "Generation POP", but I still love that band. Pop, I must
admit, is the album that got me liking U2. The actual song was
Discotheque...a classic....BOOM CHA!

I am waiting very anxiously for the Greatest Hits to come out....just the
thought of another U2 album gets me excited. WAHOO! Strangely enough, I made
a cassette about a year ago with my favorite U2 songs on it, and I titled it
"U2 Greatest Hits". Hehehe. Well, I just thought I would share these
experience with you. Have a great day.

Setting Fire to the Sky,
Brian
