A good friend down in Australia asked me to send this to Wire ...

Was reading an article in Melbourne's Sunday Age liftout and it had an
article on U2's GH and the reporter was John Mangan who went over to Sao
Paulo to preview the Popmart Tour before it hit OZ. Anyway this is what he
said:

"While I was with the band's entourage during their South American tour
earlier this year, Bono came back from Sunday lunch clutching a copy of
Romanza, the Andrea Bocelli pop/opera album that is currently floating near
the top of the Australian charts.

Bono had been in a Sao Paulo restaurant having a boozy lunch with one of
his old schoolmates (Guggi) from Dublin when he heard the song, he told us,
and then realised that it was a track he had written with the Italian rock
star Zucchero - he had just never heard it sung in Italian before.

That song Miserere, was just one of the host of U2 collaborations......"
