Hi Wirelings,

The Sunday Independent have retracted their story about Salman Rushdie
being a regular guest at Bono's Killiney estate during the 10-year fatwa
imposed on him by the Ayatollah Khomeni.
While stopping short of a full apology, the paper acknowledged that the
report amounted to an "embellishment" of the facts.
Reacting to the paper's claims, The Edge commented that, "We're a bit
pissed off because it implies that Salman was staying for long periods
of time in Bono's house, which wasn't the case. He did stay for the
weekend on maybe two occasions. We don't have a problem with standing
beside him. But the focus on the story seemed to be on Bono's house
which we could have done without from a security point of view."

In the name of love
Brigitte
