In Defense Of The GH Track Selection

11 O Clock Tick Tock - Maybe U2 had this "theme" or concept not to
include non-album tracks so that the albums the songs are from can
still be accessible to the fans, just in case U2 gained new fans who
would want to buy their old albums. If U2 wanted it this way, then
they would have had put "A Celebration" in it too.

Gloria - I heard that the aster tapes were damaged. Anotehr
explanation could be that Gloria just doesn't fit in the equation.
During the ZOO TV, or Popmart Tours, there are some songs that aren't
played not because they don't deserve to be played but because they
just don't fit in.

Bad - Well, wouldn't it just be too weird if all the songs were the
studio version and in the middle of the album comes in a live song?
U2 did not simply make a chronological arrangement of songs, tey had a
concept to follow and that is why songs were ordered in a certain way.
U2 actuallt deserved to be thanked for putting Bad, a non-hit, in the
album. Bad is a fan-favorite and U2 placed it there for the fans.

Song EDITS - Once again, we should look at the clearer picture in what
U2 are trying to attempt. They are trying to make one "coherent"
album out of old songs so that the album will be nice and sensible to
listen to from start to end. Other artisits would just pick their
greatest hits and arrange them in chronological order. If you guys
are so picky about song lengths, they maybe you would all be saying
that the Monster Truck SATS, the First Night In Hell LNOE, and even
the Grand Jury IGWSHA and the Romin Mofo might have been better int he
Pop album so that it would be closer to 74 minutes! I think not!

When Love COmes To Town - U2 gave us "Bad", a fan-favorite, now let's
give them their due and respect their choice for this song. The album
is a "Best Of" so it doesn't necessarily mean the best of what the
fans want. We should also see what the badn wants. It must have been
on of the best moments for them to be working with an icon like BB
King. If some day i become I recording artist (in my dreams!) and I
get to collaborate with U2, I wouldn't give a damn if the fans like
that song or not, but it will definitely be in my BEst Of album if I
make one.

B-side selections - Well, the people who complain are nothing but a
buch of whiners. What more can you ask of U2? In any field where
selctions are included, there will be always losers and whiners who
will complain for not being selected.

Well, that is all I have to say for now.

Cheers,

J
