Why U2? hmm.. I feel like I could go on and on about what their music means to
me, how I feel in some way it (songs like..pride,one,bad,)has helped me give
more of myself and get "involved" w. helping people more. I think it's great
4 people can get so many involved w. AI, Greenpeace etc. Cause I could talk to
people for years but somehow if the Band breaths its, it has a more far
reaching effect.
But the reason I think I love U2 so much is they feel like an old shirt. The
one in your closet that you wear all the time and no matter if it gets a small
hole, ya still wear it and feel comfortable. Forgive my crazy reasoning.
Other songs remind me of really bad times in my life when I felt like I was
alone and on the breaking point and I remember laying on the roof of my car in
the middle of a field starting at the stars in the cold listening to Numb &
MLK and somehow feeling at peace. But there are the happy songs as well,
dancing to AIWIY and WOWY at my wedding, then expolring Ireland and U2
stomping grounds..So to me it's about the music and the people and the
memories and the memories to come. It's not about collecting, it not about how
much I adore Bono, I know when I am old & gray, I would like to do a
soundtrack of my life. I think it will be mostly U2.
