Call to Arms!

This is a call to action, Wire. The posts a few days ago about Rolling Stone
Magazine leaving U2 out of their last issue instigated it. I know Nian was one
of those that posted about that. I tried to write him but the messages kept
getting kicked back to me for some reason. So, I'm posting this on Wire. I
don't read Rolling Stone, so i don't know about their lack of U2 coverage, but
there has been more than one post on this, so it must be true. I DO know that
MTV and VH-1 have both all but ignored U2 in their latest coverage. They've had
TONS of Alanis Morissette etc coverage. These "newbie" little bands are getting
a lot more attention than U2. True, the GH is old material, but U2 is not just
any little band. The music business owes them a lot. The lack of coverage
lately, as well as the negative and ignorant reviews of the GH and U2 in
general that Matt has been kind enough to post, sends up a red flag to all U2
fans that it's time to stand up for our band. They have given us so much, maybe
we should give something back here. Nian posted that both he and his wife had
sent complaint letters to Rolling Stone. Good for them. We here at Wire are
4000+ strong. That many people should get their attention. We have the power to
make our opinions heard. We all listen to U2 and should know the Bonoesque
philosophy that we should speak up.

What about starting a serious letter-writing campaign? Or maybe we could send a
letter, e-mail or otherwise, to the powers that be to let them know what we,
the U2 faithful think about the latest ignoring of our fave band by the press.
This is especially true for the American press. U2 day has been written about
from other countries. Nothing like that has gone on here. The US (& Germany I
guess) are the only places where U2 isn't #1 on release. Time to let them know!
If they don't do anything about it, then well... we did what we could. If they
do, then wouldn't that be great.

SILENCE=DEATH Speak up! Post or write me, please, if anyone is interested. I
don't get Rolling Stone, so I don't know where to write. If you don't want to
participate, then please at least e-mail me with this information.

U2 LOVE---> Because it's not just about music
