Offense taken

Wire readers,

Just when I think we can all get along in a unified fashion, I've
had a Wireling impugn my good judgement. He did the right thing. He
addressed the issue PRIVATELY. He sent me a pointed e-mail, which on the
surface seemed reasonable. However, he wasn't in possession of all the
facts. I gave him those facts PRIVATELY, and I thought the issue was
resolved fairly and civilly (in the manner which good Wire readers
should conduct themselves).
Here's the problem. The e-mail which he sent to me privately, he
also posted (apparently at the same time) to Wire. This was a breach of
trust. I accurately answered his e-mail, yet my response, which ALSO
could have been posted to Wire just as easily by him, was ignored, or at
least rendered partially moot because he had already made his post to
Wire unbeknownst to me. He didn't even extend me the courtesy of
informing me that he was going to post his e-mail to Wire. So, you can
imagine my surprise when I found his supposedly private e-mail to me in
Wire.
Let me make this clear. I have no problem with his disagreement with
my tactics. I do have a problem when I have accurately and honestly
explained the motivations of my actions and they are completely ignored
and/or unacknowledged after the fact. If he had waited until he had
received my e-mail BEFORE posting to Wire, all of this ugliness could
have been avoided. However, he, I assume, regarded (wrongly, I might
add) my actions as arrogant presumption.
I will continue this in another post because I am going to show my
fellow Wireling this e-mail BEFORE I post it to Wire and inform him that
I am posting it to Wire in advance of my actual posting. It's the least
I can do.
