>>I know, I know, this last album thing is only speculation, but I've
gone through a period of "U2 are gonna break up tommorrow" type stuff.<<

Dave, I agree with you that U2 will be back!!!!! Pop was a decent album,
but it
was not the U2 I knew in the laste 80's/ AND the year 1990. The 1990's has
been "another" U2. Sure, the old songs were still played in the 90's and a
few
heart-felt tuens like ONE and PLEASE cam out......but, it was not the same.

I, for one, believe, U2 can make ANY music they want......but they may not
try as hard sometimes. Believe me, I write songs; you can settle for
less/add
a few electronic sound and wualla......you've got some music, but not REAL
music......no WTSHNN.

With Eno and Lanois back, U2 will be back production-wise.
They took a hiatus, so to speak, from some of the emotions they
created in earlier years. I watched the PopMart video, it's great,
but one can easily see a LOT less emotion
with the exception of a few scant songs....than R&H. The guys still have
the will, the emotion, the SPIRIT, the love, and the wisdom to make an
album that no friggin' Marilyn Manson, Alanis, Puffy,
etc, etc, ETC....COULD EVER TOUCH!!!!!!

Sure, the emotion was SOMEWHERE hidden in PopMart......but it wasn't
obvious,
and the world needs the obvious energy (in words/music), apparently,
to here what U2 has to say.... U2 can't go around disquising it any longer.

I hope I never see "Mr. MacPhisto" again......Bono's poke of jeering insult
at the
devil himself. For those of you who like "Mr. MacPhisto", you just don't
get it, IMHO.

No flamming please, I'm sure plenty of people hate me for making light
of Mr. MacPhisto...oh well.

Chris

ps. You MTV-following knuckle heads out there, just ingore
MTV Europe, USA, whatever..do us all a favor.
